There was this huge buzz in one of the bookstore I visited in Australia, about this book, so I picked it up. I generally like reading vampire-fiction, so this was right up my alley. The salesperson at the check-out even told me that this was a very good book.

I read it in one sitting. Afterwards my immediate thoughts were that this book was a bit simplistic/shallow and shamelessly aimed at teenagers.

It’s mainly a teenage romance with sparkling vampires, with an okay enough plot.

Maybe I expected a bit more from the book, since it was recommended by the bookstore AND the adult clerk, but alas it wasn’t to be. As a twenty-something avid reader, I found myself slightly too mature for the book, and had seriously difficulties relating to the main characters.

I will try the next one to see if the series improve.

Recommended for teenagers, and people with teenager-brains.

Anything goes spirituality…….Just like every other spiritualist guru Oprah promotes: I’m alright, your alright, we’re all alright. I’m a god, your a god, we’re all are own gods,…collectively. yuk yuk

It works fine on my Jeep Commander dash as there is a nice depressed area to place it. Sure beats the adhesive mount that fell off after the first cold weather road trip.

I thought sub $1000 UPS’s were disposable objects, but after having several fail that were still fine and just had dead batteries I decided to try replacing them. I have a Tripplite unit and replacement was trivially easy. One screw and four slide on terminals later I had new batteries for less than half the cost of a new unit. Recharging took overnight and now I am using it again.

I have not done any load testing to verify that there is a greater life with the new batteries, but it has brought me down softly during several power failures since then (we live in the country and have frequent outages).

I heartily recommend this product with the only caveat being that you need to dispose of the replaced batteries properly and that can be non-trivial if your local dump does not handle them.

This is a great scale. I have purchased more expensive scales from big box stores and they never seem to last long (it may be because our family is heavy). We’ve had this scale for about a month and love it! Incredibly accurate and consistent. Great company!

Step on it and it gives you your weight. It does hold the read for a few seconds after you get off of it but other than it works fine.

As avid readers there are times when we are apt to encounter books that continue and linger in our minds once read. For me, “Water for Elephants” was a serendipitous find and I truly and lovingly enjoyed this novel. It’s one of those books that you never want to end. There is reason why this book has been on the NY Times bestseller list for more than 12 consecutive weeks. As many reviewers have already recounted the summary I will simply say just READ IT! I promise you will be searching for more of Sara Gruen’s novels. BTW, Apehouse is the next novel to be released!

I don’t recommend the Canadian version of the kindle AT ALL – the selection is far too limited. One of the features that attracted me to this product was that you can get best sellers before they are in paperback, but I had no idea how limited the selection was. In Canada you can’t even get the best sellers when they are in paperback! As avid readers, we already have OLD many best sellers, we’d like to get the current ones.

Okay, let me start out off by pronouncing that my hair extremely dry, brittle and weak. From years of unwinding and over-processing it with colour treatments and relaxers, my hair had grown unsmooth and uncorrectable. Yet when I would wash it with “good” shampoo and conditioner my hair would feel real rough after rinse out. Peculiarly reckoning I had coloured in my hair black about a week earlier. After my first time utilising Wen , I detected a BIG difference, it was with child! My hair was straighter, less crisp , a little more book and it actually displaced * shock absorber *! It too had this effulgent refulgence that I don’t think I’ve EVER reckoned before which is a immense addition.
