The book was interesting but shallow. I agree with the reviewers who gave it one star. I had read “Global Woman: Nannies, Maids & Sex Workers in the New Economy” just a week before and realized much worse is going on in the world right now! Black “help” has been replaced by an unlimited international supply of women in need. I have had personal experience with Hispanic housekeepers who could write the same book but instead must hide from I.C.E.

“The Help” is a heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, emotional tale set in Mississippi, in the 1940s-1960s, when Mississippians weren’t as “educated” and “progressive” as the rest of the world. What makes this such a phenomenal read is the uniqueness of the relationships of the three women and Stockett’s ability to tell this amazing story from each of their distinct perspectives. She intertwines historical fiction with a realistic tale of morals, humanity, perseverance, and overall human relationships filled with love, hate, and everything in-between. This was a masterpiece!

The screw for the battery compartment does not seem to be an isolated problem. The screw for the battery cover is an extremely small Phillips head. There is a flat piece of metal provided with a tab on each end. This supposed to be the screwdriver. Ordinarily this might work. But in this case the tab is too long to fit in the cross-slot. Therefore the screw cannot be removed so the battery can be inserted. I have jewelers screwdrivers but doubt they would work because the cross-slots are so small they appear nearly round. Makes it difficult to screw in or out.
It’s a shame because the product looks and feels good. But with no battery it is no better than a paper weight, in fact not that good. It’s not heavy enough to hold paper down.
There are MANY other ways to secure a battery compartment. Too bad they didn’t choose one of them. I have sent this thing back to Amazon. Don’t waste your time or money on this product.

this GPS is delivered with the old map program installed and it takes countless hours to download and install the new maps. After that it seems to be very user frendly.

I liked this book. One reason is that there is a ton of high-tech things that the fairies use. Another is that the fairies are different from the creatures you read about in fairy tales. Also it was funny at times as well. The centaur named Foaly had a pretty good sense of humor at most times. It also had a lot of action in it as well.
There were, however, also a few things I did not like. One was people’s language at times, like that one commander who said, “Blow the door off its **** hinges.” There were a few other times people swore too. That was almost about the only thing I did not like about the book though.
In this book I did not really have a favorite part. I liked just about all of them. Altogether, it was a very good book.

You settle down for a nice evening with a home movie and you note when it is over that you haven’t touched your beverage or popcorn, and you may well be sitting on the edge of your chair. In an adventure that begins as an adult/adolescent rebellion against “acting like a man,” this story evolves, sometimes gently and sometimes with ferocious leaps, into one of the most spiritual movies you will ever see. The characters are believable. The story involves one of saddness, search, transformation, and reconciliation. The acting is beautiful to behold, and you sense that they really felt what they were portraying. The viewer will feel it too. This movie was recommended to me as being “very erotic.” It is erotic,in the sense that a life well-lived is erotic, but it is so much more so. An earlier reviewr recommend that this movie be rented and then purchased. That is exactly what we did in my house.

This book should be titled “Conversations with Satan”, because that is who this sadly misguided author was listening to. If you really want to know about God read HIS book, it’s called the “Holy Bible” and not a book from someone who is just out to make a quick buck off of people desperate to hear the truth as long as it fits into what they want to believe. People don’t want to be held accountable, they want to believe that everything is all right and it’s someone else’s fault. This is not what God teaches. I challenge you to get into His word if you want the honest truth.
