This is regarding the Audio CDs, NOT THE TEXT. The narrator is so annoying and grating I literally couldn’t listen past the first chapter. Complete waste of money. The way she reads the text makes it sound geared for an 11 year-old, or even younger. It makes you feel like you are listening in on a superficial little girl’s diary. It is obvious they recorded it before Twilight became such a big hit, or they would have put more thought and value into the CDs. Such a disappointment.

From the Mauy Thai training camps in Thailand, to the Jiujitsu dojos of Brazil, to Boxing and MMA gyms across the USA, Sam Sheridan goes on a mission of self discovery and lives the fighters life of training and competing in various martial arts. He makes you feel like you are right there with him in the ring, or on the mat training; but more importantly you get an insiders account of the misunderstood sub-culture of pro fighting, and a look into the heart and minds of the people that do it. A must read for any aspiring martial artist or anyone who has ever stepped into a ring, onto a mat, or has entertained the idea of doing it. If you are a fan or practitioner of MMA, boxing, or any competitive martial art this book is a must read.
A Fighter s Heart

I think this book is a classic for a reason. Most people might be able to identify with the overall them of confusion, rebellion, loneliness and angst. The writing style is very whimsical and different from most YA books. With all the slang thrown it, it kind of dates itself; however it forms a good idea of how people talked back then.

I’m not a big fan of Holden. He calls other people “phonies” while he doesn’t realize that he himself is a phony. His attitude and characterization doesn’t change at all at the end of the novel; in fact he just whines about problems and runs away from them instead of taking action. I don’t think this could count as a true coming of age novel as the character didn’t really grow from the experience.

After the second and third time of reading this book, I’m starting to love this book. It’s a fairly interesting read. The characterization is superb and so is the plot.

Alright, maybe the DVD could use an instructional manual . . . then again, maybe you could do what I did and just mash the angle button, the setup/enter key, or anything else you can get your vaseline covered hands on!

I did just that, I mashed the hell out of any and all buttons on my remote, and boom 15 minutes of tap-tap-tap “Rainbow Girls” . . . more Agnostic Front/Murphy’s Law than any adult should endure!!! So c’mon, be like that lab monkey wacking the hell out of a buzzer in search of a banana.

. . . as for the Barney’s work. I saw and enjoyed the entire CREMASTER CYCLE in some artsy-fartsy theatre . . . and sure you could waste your time looking for meaning, or you can do what I did and “dumb-it-down” and enjoy incredibly unique visuals.

In conclusion, if you like movies . . . no wait, that’s terrible, let me start again. In conclusion, if you have seen any of the CREMASTER films, and you’d like to have the privilege of owning a very affordable work of art, buy it. Even if you don’t want to waste your time mashing keys to access the extra footage, the 31:05 ORDER is worth the price.

. . . now, who wants a banana!

J D Salinger’s best effort details the thoughts of a seventeen year old boy as he faces the hypocrisy of the adult world with a youthful mind and eye. A classical look at the age old problem of growing to adulthood, a perfect metaphor for the modern world in general.
Well written and told in the first person using Caulfield Holden’s own dialogue this novel should be read by everyone.

What can you say? When you buy KitchenAid, you are buying a quality product. Save your money on other brands; this brand will last you and aid you in your kitchen for years to come. What I love most about this particular spatula is the color. If this pink color doesn’t bring a little spark of happiness to the mundane, I don’t know what will. Of course, I am a girly-girl who can’t have enough pink in my life, so a little pink in my kitchen is just what I need, not to mention that the purchase goes towards the fight against breast cancer. A great deal all the way around!
